It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed the team required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
